OP/ED: Edina hosts ultimate All-Star game at US Bank Stadium

On Sunday, December 1st the first ever ultimate frisbee game was held in U.S Bank stadium. The game featured two games side by side. Two Minnesota All-Star rosters were created to take on the Edina boys and girls teams, being Edina vs. Minnesota.

HURT prepares for state final

The Hopkins Ultimate Team (HURT) has just finished a wild weekend of wins to advance to the state finals for the third time in a row. HURT will be taking on Edina for another state championship. Both teams are major rivals who always are at the top of the state. Hopkins has beaten Edina three times this season and lost to them three times.

Mats Hansen, junior, is a player on the HURT (Hopkins Ultimate Recreation Team) team. This season Hansen got the call up from the Junior Varsity team to the Varsity team. He plays the position of cutter which is someone who runs out for long throws and mostly catches the frisbee.
Dante Reminick, junior, tries to bat down the frisbee in their championship game against Fox Valley Fusion. The Royals won 12 to nine.

Recap: HURT hosts Hopkins Hustle Tournament and takes 1st place

The Hopkins Boys Ultimate Frisbee Team just held the largest frisbee tournament in Minnesota located at the Blaine Sports Complex. The Royals took charge in their own tournament playing a total of seven games and winning all of them. The first three games were pool play and the last four were the elimination bracket games.

Asher Kahn, junior, is preparing for his second year on varsity for the Hopkins ultimate frisbee team, Hurt (Hopkins Ultimate Recreation Team). Kahn has been playing for the Hopkins teams since seventh grade.

HURT takes first place in Grey Duck Invitational

The Hopkins Hurt team is off to a great start to the 2018 season. The team competed in the Grey Duck Invitational Feb. 3rd, and took home the hardware, walking away with the first place trophy. Although Edina won state last year, HURT looks to have the upper edge this season.

On Feb. 10th AJ Condon, senior, will be traveling to Livermore, CA for a chance to tryout with 100 others from around the country for a spot on the U-20 USA ultimate frisbee team. Hopkins Ultimate has been a strong club team in the past years with great players helping carry the team.

The Hopkins Ultimiate Recreational Team (HURT) is currently ranked 13th in the nation among ultimate frisbee teams. HURT this year is turning heads, but this is nothing new for HURT, as they have been ranked in the top 16 for multiple years now.

Hopkins Ultimate Recreational Team or HURT is a club sport that represents students from the Hopkins district, but not HHS. Members of HURT can letter in ultimate through HHS but do not have a specific season or section.

HURT looks to take home hardware from Canada

The Hopkins Ultimate Recreational Team (HURT) is headed to Winnipeg, Canada, for an annual ‘Hold Back the Snow tournament’, playing against the top teams in Canada, this weekend. Despite graduating many key seniors last year, HURT is preparing for a successful weekend.
Hopkins Ultimate takes out Edina to reclaim the Lake Conference title, with a score of 15-8.
