Homecoming preview: facing the Sabers

Screen Shot 2015-09-18 at 2.28.21 PMScreen Shot 2015-09-18 at 2.28.38 PMDespite a record of 0-4, the Shakopee Sabers are a formidable opponent for the Royals. Shakopee’s senior star running back, Owen Webster, returned last Friday after missing the Sabers’ first three games of the season.

Their coaching staff wasn’t shy in reintroducing him to the offense.

In his first game back, Webster rushed a whopping 44 times, gaining 151 yards on the ground.

The Sabers will not surprise the Royals’ defense, after rushing 57 times as opposed to nine passes in their defeat to Prior Lake last week. If the Royals are able to limit Shakopee’s rushing attack, Shakopee will be in for a long night.

On the offensive side of the ball, senior quarterback Oscar Johnson and the pass-happy Royals will look to capitalize on a Sabers defense which has yet to intercept a pass this year.

Tonight at 6:00 pm, the Royals will host the Shakopee Sabers in a Homecoming match-up at the stadium field.
