AP Ceramics students use wood burning kiln
Every year, the AP Ceramics students take a trip to the base of the water tower to try their hand at a wood burning kiln. Unlike a regular kiln, a wood burning kiln is used outside.
Before the students can put the pots into the wood burning kiln, they have to apply special chemicals that leave special colors and markings on the pot. Because these chemicals only function with wood burning kilns, Ms. Terry Chamberlain, Art, thought it was important to expose her students to this process.
