Football team travels to Michigan
The Hopkins Royals football team traveled all the way to Kingsford, Michigan on Thursday, Sep. 11, to play against Kingsford High School. After last Friday’s loss to Totino-Grace High School, the Royals are hoping for a win this weekend.
“Our team needs to stay focused and do our job as individuals,” said Kyle Johnson, senior.
The Royals expressed that they are confident and excited to play this weekend. They have been preparing for the game with new plays and are ready to perform. Taj Winston, senior, said that the team will spread their offense in shotgun formation in order to score a touchdown.
In order to find success, Harry Momoh, senior and captain, has some expectations for his team.
“[We will] have a positive attitude and work hard,” Momoh said.
A victory against Kingsford would put the Royals at 2-2 on the season heading into homecoming against Minnetonka on Sep. 19.
