With Black History Month continuing to make a great impact on HHS students, the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) fair on Feb. 19 proved to be a success in educating students on the importance of HBCUs.
On Thursday HHS had the opportunity to listen to Leslie Redmond, President of Minn. NAACP chapter. In her talk, she spoke about her initiatives to better the community. She focuses on the three C’s platform, Communication, Collaboration, and Compassion.
Even if you have not followed politics or current events in recent months, it is easy to see within our school and community through discussions in classes that the political climate is divisive and polarizing.
In writing this, I hope I have helped some people to acknowledge the colossal unseen dimensions of privilege in our social system and encouraged them to learn more.
