by Sam Kaminsky, Director of HopkinsOn:

Thanksgiving is in just a few days away, and the Faces of Conflict (FOC) class at HHS is well prepared. A tradition that started far beyond remembrance is the FOC class making turkey headbands.

“Thanksgiving for students is a time to relax and have fun, so this tradition is a great way to bring the class together and have a good time while making them,” says Mr. David Williams, English.

Students from the past often have nostalgia when they see the FOC class wearing the headbands.

“Past students of mine always come up to me on the turkey headband day. They tell me how much they loved that activity and I think it really brings the whole school together, too. Everyone deserves to chuckle at the headbands because they are pretty funny,” says Williams.

The FOC turkey headbands are a long running tradition at HHS, and it won’t be going away anytime soon.
