Jasmyn Martin, junior, is the Royal of the Month this April. Martin has been playing volleyball for six years without letting it get in the way of her education.

“[Volleyball] does not get in the way of school at all. [My GPA] varies between a 3.8 and a 3.75,” Martin said.

Martin committed to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities for Volley in the spring of her sophomore year. Martin does not allow her commitment to a D1 school get in the way of how she plays volleyball.

“She is a really good teammate. She is really consistent and she is very steady when she plays,” said Greta Werner, junior. “[Martin is] more of a team player.”

Werner has played volleyball with Martin for two seasons. Werner and Martin also played for the same volleyball club, the Northern Lights. After college, Martin plans on continuing her volleyball career.

“[After college] I would love to play for the national team and play overseas,” Martin said.
