Crockett takes reins as academic dean
by Eli Badower, senior, and Hillary Donovan, junior
Tyson Crockett, Academic Dean, struts to the front of HHS in his bow tie and plaid shirt, waiting to get to know all the students at the school.
Being the new Academic Dean at HHS, Crockett has a packed schedule and is ready to distinguish himself in the community. With being on almost every committee in the school, trying to introduce himself to as many students as possible, and being an extra hand for staff, Crockett is a busy person.
“My number one goal for this school year is to get to know as many kids as I can,” Crockett said. “I think that if I am going to be at all helpful then people need to get to know me.”
Crockett hopes to connect with kids this year using his experience as the Dean of Students at Spring Lake Park Middle School, and also from being a teacher at Robbinsdale Cooper High School.
“If people get to know me, and figure out that I’m not a senior or a jerk, they will find that I’m alright to be around, and I can start helping people,” said Crockett. “If people don’t know you they don’t trust you, and they aren’t going listen to anything that you have say.”
Ready to take on his first year at HHS, Crockett is excited to be here and eager to get the school year going.
