Professional athletes to host camps at HHS this summer

During the summer, four professional athletes will be participating in and hosting athletic camps.

Marcus Williams, HHS alum, current New York Jets defensive back will be hosting a football camp on July 8 and 9. Williams will be hosting students ages 14 to 17. The camp will start at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. each of the days. The cost of the camp is $200. All of the proceeds from the camp will benefit the Bolder Options Foundation.  

The Bolder Options Foundation is an organization that helps healthy youth development and engages in goal setting, physical activity, tutoring and community.

Over the first two years of Williams’ career he has a combination of 63 tackles, seven interceptions and 1.5 sacks. Williams has been a big contributor to the Jets’ success over the past year.  

Kyle Rudolph, Pro Bowl MVP 2012, current Minnesota Vikings tight end and special guest of Rudolph’s, Teddy Bridgewater, Pro Bowl 2016, current Minnesota Vikings Quarterback will be hosting a football camp on July 18 and 19. The camp will start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. The cost of the camp is $149.

Rudolph has spent five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and has posted 182 receptions, 1,781 yards and 22 touchdowns.  Special guest Bridgewater has spent two seasons with Vikings and has 551 completions, 6,150 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns, and led the Vikings to the playoffs this past year.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Rookie of the Year, and current Minnesota Timberwolves center will be hosting a basketball camp on July 27 and 28. Towns’ camp will be hosted at the Lindbergh Center. The camp starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. This camp will be available to students grades one through 12.  The cost of the camp is $199.

Towns was recently named Rookie of the Year. He had an impressive first season on the Timberwolves playing in every game of the season, averaging 18.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks a game.

Rudolph’s and Towns’ camp will also include an autograph from the athlete, a limited edition t-shirt, and a camp team photo with each athlete.
