Boys cross country team finishes second at state

On Nov. 1 at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., the Royals boys cross country team tied with Stillwater for second place in the state race.

 The Wayzata Trojans won the state race with runners taking three of the top ten positions.

 For the Royals, Joe Klecker, senior finished third (15:26), Owen Hoeft, junior finished eighth (15:46), Jack Henschel, junior finished 23rd (16:15), Seth Eliason, sophomore finished 26th (16:19), Samuel Branson, junior finished 27th (16:20), Hunter Staack, junior finished 28th (16:26), and Brett Nelson, senior finished 52nd (16:55).

 The Royals now look forward to racing at the Nike Regional Tournament in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 16. A top-two finish at Regionals would qualify the Royals for the Nike National Tournament in Portland, Ore. on Dec. 6.
