Boys hockey falters against Eden Prairie, prepare for Orono

The HHS boys hockey team suffered another loss when they were routed by the number one team in the state, the Eden Prairie Eagles, 0-4. Despite a great first and second period effort, the Royals suffered their seventh loss of the season.

With a score of 0-4, it doesn’t seem like much went well for the Royals, but goalie Bobby Wilson, junior, still found they did well in some regards.

“We did a really good job of containing [the Eagles] to the outside, we only slipped up a few times which led to the goals they scored,” Wilson said.

The Royals were coming off of a 2-1 loss to the Benilde-St, Margaret’s Red Knights, so the team was hopeful for a better result. A loss to the best team in the state is not the worst thing, and the Royals have figured out some things they want to work on.

“We need to let up less odd-man-rushes, because we get scored on too much like that. We also can’t get 40 penalty minutes in a game, that’s just way too much,” Wilson said.

The Royals are getting ready to face the Orono Spartans, on Thur. Dec. 22, at 7p.m at the Hopkins Pavilion Arena.
