After a 3-0 win against a conference opponent, Eden Prairie, Royals volleyball continues to be undefeated with a record of 8-0 and moves up to the 4th ranked spot in the state.

The Royals led by seven in the first set, three in the second set and fourteen in the third, giving them a win over the Eagles, who are ranked 16th in state.

“EP always comes out fighting, but we kept shutting them down,” said Tara Lee, junior. “We’ve never beat EP with a lead that strong before.”

Although they celebrated a great win, the Royals know they have to stay focused in order to withhold their undefeated record in the very competitive Lake Conference.

“People always want to take down that undefeated team so that adds a little nervousness,” said Jasmyn Martin, senior, captain.

On Thurs., Sept. 22 at 7:00 p.m., the Royals take on the Skippers at Minnetonka High School.

“[Tonka] is one of our rivals, so it’ll be a fun game as long as we stay confident,” Lee said.

Although the Skippers are also in the Lake Conference, their record is 4-6.

“It’ll be a good match,” Martin said. “Hopefully we can beat them in their own gym.”
