In recent years, HHS students have hosted various musical events that feature student performers. One particularly popular event was Buckfest, usually taking place at venues like the Depot in Hopkins. Now, as Valentine’s Day approaches, Lucius Jemison, senior, prepares for the upcoming Slim Thick Nite.

“[Slim Thick Nite] is an event a few friends and I decided to throw for Valentine’s Day,” Jemison said.

Slim Thick Nite is the first Valentine’s Day celebration created by Jemison, Max Taylor, and Asher Weisberg, seniors, along with other contributors who are former HHS students. Jemison, Taylor, and Weisberg are artists who have created and performed many other events consistently for a year and a half.

The performers at the event will include Jemison, Taylor, Weisberg, and along with other students who do not attend HHS such as Connor Marques, Judahboy, and Longley.

“It’s going to be a fun time; we are going to celebrate something,” Jemison said.

Reece Chiriboga, senior, is looking forward to Slim Thick Nite due to the huge success of Buckfest in the past.

“[Jemison] is an excellent performer. Every time [I went to Buckfest], I had a great time,” Chiriboga said.

Slim Thick Nite will be hosted at The Depot on Saturday Feb. 13th at seven pm.
