On Friday Oct. 24, the football team will play the Edina Hornets in the first round of the section tournament.

The Royals, seeded 3rd in the section, finished the regular season 4-4 with wins against 3 Lake Conference teams: Minnetonka, Wayzata, and Edina.

The Edina Hornets, seeded 6th in the section, finished their regular season with a 2-6 record with 1 Lake Conference win against Minnetonka.

Earlier in the season, the Royals fought off a late Hornets comeback to win the game 27-24 and remain undefeated in Lake Conference play.

If the Royals beat the Hornets this evening, they will play the winner of the Lakeville North vs. Park of Cottage Grove game.

The rematch is set to kick off section play this evening at 7 pm.
