Boys hoops preview: Visiting Eden Prairie

The Royals boys basketball team will travel to Eden Prairie to play the Eagles tonight, Fri., Feb. 24 in their last away game of the regular season. In their first meeting, the Royals defeated the Eagles by a score of 84-77 at the Lindbergh Center.
The Royals are 18-5 and are currently on a six-game win streak. The Royals picked up a clutch win last Friday [Feb. 17] against a big rival, the Wayzata Trojans. The Royals won 70-62 and were helped by both Blaise Beauchamp, freshman, and Ish El-Amin, senior, who each dropped 16.
This season has been led by Simon Wright, senior, El-Amin, and Beauchamp. El-Amin has really stepped up this season and is averaging 20.8 points per game. Wright and Beauchamp have also been a big help averaging 15.6 and 12.8, respectively.
Led by Owen Chose, senior, and Kyler Kluge, junior, who are averaging 20.7 and 13.3 ppg, respectively. The Eagles are 14-11 and are in the midst of a rough stretch of games right now. They have lost their last three games, two of them being Lake Conference match-ups.
After this game, the Royals have their last two games of the season at home. They will look to end the season hot and gain momentum heading into the postseason.
