Girls hockey falls to 10-3 with loss against Eden Prairie
Dec 19, 2016
The Royals girls hockey team played their first conference game on Sat. Dec. 17, against Eden Prairie Eagles. The game was a pretty even match, comparing the Royals’ record of 10-2 with the Eagles’ record of 7-2.
The Royals were able to hold the Eagles off until they scored a goal with less than five minutes remaining in the second period. The Eagles then scored two more in the third period and won 3-0.
Although the Royals didn’t play as well as they wanted to, they were able to put their first conference game behind them and play to a higher level.
“We learned that we can play with any team and we just need to play three full periods of hockey and finish on scoring opportunities,” said Jenna Kimbrel, senior.
The Royals are getting used to the pressures of conference games and are preparing for the first weeks of January, where they will have three conference games back to back.
“It was a super fast paced game and we played really well as a team, so it was an exciting way to begin our conference games,” Kimbrel said.
