HHS Responds facilitates fishbowl for healing and support

The fishbowl, put on by HHS Responds, is being held on Dec. 1. The club wants to have more time to set things up.
“[The program is being delayed] So we can promote [the fishbowl] among teachers and students. We want representation from diverse perspectives,” said Profe Tim Owen, Spanish.
A fishbowl is much like a socratic seminar in the fact that is it a safe and friendly environment to discuss the topic in an educated and mature matter.
Unlike a socratic seminar is how a fishbowl is organized. A fishbowl is organized by having two circles of chairs and the inside circle speaks about the subject and the outside listens. When someone from the outside wants to speak on the subject, they tap the shoulder of someone in the middle and they switch seats.
HHS Responds wants people with all viewpoints to show up. Although they want all viewpoints they want to have a respectful vibe to the whole thing. They had a meeting Monday Nov. 15, to talk about what that respects looks like.
“HHS Responds will have questions that they will ask related to how the election had impacted students in HHS and in the community at large,” Owen said.
