Football preview: Hosting Prior Lake
Oct 19, 2016
Tonight the Royals football team hosts the Prior Lake Lakers for their final game of the season, on a rare Wednesday night game. The Royals, who just came off of two back to back one-point losses to top Lake Conference teams, are looking to turn their luck around.
The Royals are also looking to even out their record of 3-4, and end the season at .500, with a 4-4 record.
This game is also senior night, and the Royals are graduating 16 seniors this season, so this game is going to be big for a lot of the players, and many are hopeful about a positive outcome.
“It’s crazy how fast the season passes, and that it’s already the last game of the regular season. It really has been a season to remember, and it’s definitely not over,” said Tyler Schebloom, senior.
The seniors graduating have been in football program for a good part of their lives, and now they are finally coming to their final regular season game, and they have strong feelings about playing in their last game.
“It’s huge. I’ve been apart of the program for four years and have spent hours upon hours practicing and playing for Hopkins, so it’s an honor, but also a little sad for this to be my last time playing on the H for the regular season,” said Sam Oxford, senior, captain.
Senior Night is tonight, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m., at home.
