The Royals lost a tough matchup last night against the Wayzata Trojans by a score of 0-5. The Trojans are ranked #2 in the state.

However, despite the Royals loss, the game was close at halftime, with Trojans being up by a score of 1-0. The Trojans poured on the goals in the second half, adding another four goals to their lead.

The scoring for the Trojans was led by Patrick Weah, freshman and Maclane King, senior, both had two goals in the contest.

“In the first half we played well, holding them to only one goal. After the first ten minutes in the second half, everything fell apart. We struggled to get the ball and play as team,” said Nico Shirley, junior, captain.

The Royals will look to turn things around Sat., Oct. 1st, when they host the St. Louis Park Orioles. After that, the Royals will travel to Edina on Wed., Oct. 5th, to play the Hornets.
