On Thursday Sept. 29, the Royals girls soccer team hosted the Wayzata Trojans. The Royals fell to the Trojans 1-3.

The most recent game between the two teams went almost the same way, Royals failing to score, and losing 0-1

The game started even with both teams scoring quickly into the game. Both teams played very well defensively and held the other team to a 1-1 and the end of the first half.

The second half started slow, with both teams failing to produce any points until about halfway through. There was a tripping call, and Wayzata had the penalty kick, and scored.

Once down 1-2, the Royals focused too much on offense, and let up on defense, which led to another Trojans goal.

Lavin Douglass, sophomore, was the only goal scored for the Royals.

“Everything was kind of stopped. I just saw the opportunity to run across the back line and Ashley played the ball through and put me on a break away,” Lavin said,”We were lucky to pull out a 1-1 after the first half, we just came out unlucky in the second.”
