Yesterday the Royals volleyball team traveled to Wayzata to face the Trojans. The Royals went into the game knowing what they were up against, but confident and well prepared.

With a 5-0 record to maintain, the Royals continued to fight through the match. By the fourth set the teams were tied 2-2, but after scoring 15-12 in the fifth, the Royals won.

“It’s definitely more fulfilling to win in five sets than to blowout a team in three,” said Jane Nelson, junior.

After coming off of a second place win over the weekend, the Trojans proved to be hard competition.

“It was our toughest match so far, and Wayzata played well,” Nelson said. “But we continued to work hard and battle for points throughout the match.”

On Thurs. Sept. 15th at 7:00 p.m. the Royals play the undefeated Hornets at Edina High School.

The Royals are hoping to go into their next match with the same intensity and composure they did against Wayzata.

“It will be key for us to keep playing aggressive again and make adjustments,” said Greta Werner, senior.
