“The first set was 25-9, and the second wasn’t so good, but we hung in there,” said Tara Lee, junior, “the third set we had lots of service errors, but we played well together and didn’t let the errors bother us.”

Jasmyn Martin, senior, captain, is also in high spirits after Tuesday’s game.

“I think the game went really well, and we beat them efficiently,” Martin said. “I’m really happy with how it went.

Next up, the Royals play Roseville, a team that is known to have some good players. However, that doesn’t seem to intimidate the Royals.

“They have three really great players, but they’re still very beatable if we keep playing the way we have and don’t make too many errors,” Lee said.

Although hopeful, Martin knows Roseville is ranked in the top 10 in the state, and they’ll have to work hard and stay focused in order to come out on top.

“I’m excited, but it’ll be a good test to see how we do against a top ranked team,” Martin said.
