Last night the Royals suffered their first loss of the 2016 season at the hands of their Lake Conference rival, the Minnetonka Skippers.

The Royals were down 0-1 at halftime, and proceeded to lose the game by a final score of 1-3. With the Skippers winning last night against the Royals, the Skippers moved up to number five in the rankings.

As far as their play, Nico Shirley, junior, was not pleased with the team’s performance.

“We came in as the underdogs, which got us excited for the game but we didn’t translate our excitement into working as one unit,” Shirley said.

One player who stood out in the game was Minnetonka’s Avery Weaver, senior, who scored two goals.

The Royals next test will come tomorrow, Sept. 8th, when the Royals will travel to Mounds View to play against the Mustangs at 6 p.m..
