The Royals girls tennis team is off to a great start with wins over Princeton, Shakopee, Delano, Minneapolis Southwest, and St. Louis Park. As well, they also took one tough loss in a well fought match against Prior Lake (3-4).

However, they have had some impressive matches including their match against Delano. The Royals came into the match ranked 10th and Delano 9th. The Royals battled at every position in the line up and ended up beating Delano (4-3)

The Royals lost five seniors this past year, and are now excited to see how this young team can come together.

“I’m most excited to have my first chance on varsity, and to get better everyday,” said Ellie Fishman, junior.

The Royals look to continue their hot start, with their next match against Benilde St. Margaret today at 4:00 p.m. at Aquila Park.
