Player profile: Sammi Galinson
Sammi Galinson, junior, plays midfield for the Royals girls lacrosse team. She is off to a hot start of the season, with 14 goals already in the first three games of the season.
The team is on track to beat their previous record of 2 and 11 with the team being 2 and 1 as of the last game.
Galinson is looking forward to creating some new memories this season, while also keeping the old ones.
“When we played Eden Prairie, the state champions, I had five goals. It was a really fun [experience] we played them,” Galinson said. “I am hoping that we will have a winning record, which will be the first time in school history.”
Galinson is looking forward what Hopkins girls lacrosse will become.
“The future of the girls lacrosse program will be a lot of younger girls developing their skills. Coach Smart [does not] want us to be the last in the Lake Conference. We are going [to] try to get back into the [state] tournament in the next five years,” said Galinson.
