Girls basketball preview: facing the Skippers

Tonight Friday, Feb. 26, The Hopkins girls basketball team 23-2, is looking to clinch the number one spot in the Lake Conference, by beating the Minnetonka Skippers tonight. The Royals, lost in their first meeting with the number one ranked Skippers, but are looking to redeem themselves.

Minnetonka, has a record of 21-3 so far this season. Their leading scorer, senior, Courtney Frederick, who averages 14 ppg will be a tough obstacle for the Royals defense to overcome.

The Royals, are currently second in the Lake Conference, and proved their prowess in a commanding win against the Wayzata Trojans, with a final score of 74-60 this past . The Michigan St. commit, senior, Nia Hollie, has had a terrific season and is leading the Royals in both points and rebounds. She looks to continue her success tonight.

The game will be held at the Lindbergh Center at 7.
