In the past few years, the HHS Orchestra has collaborated with local musicians to put on the annual Spotlight Concert. Previous artists have included Chris Koza and Billy McLaughlin.

This year, Jeremy Messersmith was the guest musician. He joined the orchestra in performing at the concert on Feb. 19, along with Andy Thompson on the piano.

Prior to the concert, Messersmith and Thompson practiced with the orchestra during class for several weeks. The orchestra learned and performed nine of his songs with him, including “Welcome to Suburbia” and “Bridges.”

Together, they also performed Messersmith’s version of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” Messersmith played several songs on his own, as well.
