Girls basketball preview: facing the Eagles

On Feb 19, the 20-2 Hopkins Royals girls basketball team will face a division opponent, the Eden Prairie Eagles. The game will take place at Eden Prairie High School at 7 pm.

The Royals, are currently in second place, and are looking for a win to boost them ahead of the Minnetonka Skippers in the Lake Conference.

Eden Prairie 6-18, is currently ranked last in the Lake Conference, while the Royals are ranked second. After a dominating win against Edina, with a score of 67-46, the Royals look to move past the Skippers with another lake conference win.

Nia Hollie, senior, is coming off a dominating 14 point game in the 67-46 beatdown against Edina, and hopes to carry that momentum and energy into the next game. The Eagles leading scorer, Esabelle Levine, senior, is averaging 15.2 points per game.

The Royals, are looking to make a season sweep of the Eagles, as they beat the Eagles handily earlier this season with a final score of 78-47.
