Concert Choir going to Regionals

On Thursday, The Hopkins men’s Concert Choir will take a trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is an annual choir trip – however, this one is more special than ones in the past.

They will leave at 6 am on Thursday morning and will return at 8:30 pm that night.

“It’s a business trip” said Mr. Phillip Brown, music.

Brown is very excited for this trip in particular. This trip is the end of a long, three year application process to make it to Regionals. Hopkins is one of only five high schools performing at the event.

“I’m tired, but excited,” Brown said.

This is the Choir’s first trip to Regionals. They had applied to Regionals before, but were not selected. This is one of the higher honors for the choir.

Owen Hoeft, senior, is also excited to be a part of this moment.

“It should be fun,” Hoeft said. “It will be fun to hear the songs that we have been working on.”

Along with the five high school choirs, college, professional, and youth choirs will also be performing at the event.
