Volleyball defeated by Trojans

Last night the Hopkins Royal volleyball team supported Breast Cancer Awareness month at their game against the Wayzata Trojans. The Royals lost the match 0-3.

The first game began with a serve from  Amanda Gans, senior. The Trojans took a lead with 5-2. The Royals fought back and brought the score up 12-11. However, the team couldn’t finish off the game resulting in a win for the Trojans 25-19.

The second game began with a lead from the Royals 7-5. The Trojans quickly caught up and took the lead in the middle of the game with 15-13. The Royals kept close behind the Trojans for the rest of the match until the Trojans took the game with a score of 27-25.

In the last set the Trojans took off with a lead of 5-0. The Royals pulled themselves together and brought the score back 10-5. The Trojans held their lead and finished the game 25-13 with a win for the match.

The Royals have their next game this Thursday, Oct. 22, against the Eden Prairie Eagles. This will be their last match of the season before sections. The Royals will also be honoring their seniors Nicole Dewitz, Amanda Gans, Maddi Gelhar, Olivia Hawkins, and Allison Jensen.
