Last Friday before the football game, the bus lot was filled with students as they began to set up for the most anticipated tailgating event of the year: Homecoming.

Tailgating events are run by a group of junior and senior boys, known as ‘Team Tailgate’. Their positions on the team were handed down to them by the boys of last years graduating class.

Nik Solberg, senior, says he joined Team Tailgate so he can make the most of senior year and have fun before cheering on our football team.

“We do it so everyone can come together as a community and have a good time. It’s a good way to bring everybody together,” Solberg said.

Each member of Team Tailgate roughly spends around $20 on food per football game. If the food supply runs low while tailgating, the Team pools together money and makes a grocery run.

Despite the cost the members of Team Tailgate might have to pay, they believe that the experience is what is most important.

“We are just a group of guys who want to show everyone a good time,” said Leo Tapper, senior and member of Team Tailgate.
