No money, no problem

This year, the cafeteria is enforcing a rule towards students who have a negative balance of more than ten dollars in their lunch accounts. If a student has this balance, they will only be able to purchase an alternative lunch.

The alternative lunch includes a grilled cheese sandwich, a required fruit or vegetable, and an optional milk. This is the only lunch students will be able to purchase until more money is added to their account.

In past years, HHS has faced complications with students not having enough money in their accounts for purchasing a lunch. The goal of implementing this new rule remind students they need to add money to their account in order to receive a selection of lunch possibilities.

The new policy has brought up the concern that students may take advantage of the new system, which allows students who have negative funds to purchase the alternative lunch for free.

The alternative lunch will be available for all students beginning Sept. 14.
