After doubling last year’s win total, the boys lacrosse team is ready to make some noise in the section tournament. The team finished the regular season with an overall record of 4-9.

As the sixth seed, the Royals will play three seed Minnetonka tonight at 7 p.m. at Minnetonka Stadium.

The teams have played twice already this season, with the Skippers winning both times. Early in the season, the Royals lost 12-5. Just last week, the Royals lost in a close 11-7 game.  However, the team is optimistic that they can get their first win against Minnetonka tonight.

“We are very excited, because the last time we played Minnetonka, we were tied with only a few minutes to play in the fourth quarter before Elliot Carson, our senior defensive captain, got injured and then we lost,” said Andrew Wallace-Jackson, senior. “We believe this time we will finish the job. We have been working hard in practice and improving as a team throughout the season.”

If the Royals win, they would play the winner of Chaska vs. Edina on June 1.
