After defeating Edina on May 22, the Royals baseball team headed to Armstrong for a sections quarterfinal showdown against the Falcons.

In the regular season, the Falcons went 12-8, going 9-4 in Northwest Suburban Conference play.

On April 20, the Royals hosted the Falcons in their first matchup of the season. The game was close, but a lone seventh-inning run sealed the deal for the Falcons, as they defeated the Royals 5-3.

Yesterday, the Royals traveled to Armstrong looking to stay undefeated in sections. The Falcons’ five-run third inning was too much for the Royals to handle, as the Falcons once again defeated the Royals, this time by a score of 5-1.

Tonight the Royals hope to stay alive as they host the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks in a sections elimination game.

Cooper finished the regular season with a 7-13, going 5-9 in Metro West Conference play. The Hawks are playing in their second elimination game tonight, coming off a 10-5 win over Orono.
