Students in second semester Physics class spent the last term learning about concepts stemming from light and sound to velocity and acceleration. Now, students get to see these ideas in action as they take a field trip to Valleyfair.

Students left today after first block and returned at the end of fourth block.

Jack Madden, senior, was one of the students who went on the field trip today.

“It let us apply what we learned in the classroom to the real world,” Madden said.

While at the park, students didn’t only ride rollercoasters and playing games. They had a worksheet to fill out that connected the rides to what they learned in class.

The sheet asked students questions about several physics concepts such as how fast a rollercoaster cart needed to be traveling to make it safely through a loop.
