Kuehmichel selected to Star Tribune All Metro team

With the boys hockey season coming to a close with the state tournament being this weekend, March 4-7, the Star Tribune comes out with a first, second, and third “All Metro” team. Royals goalie, Josh Kuehmichel, senior, was selected on the Star Tribune All Metro third team.

Coaches from around the metro vote on the players and after the players are chosen they then divide them into the three teams.

“It’s an honor,” Kuehmichel said. “I didn’t find out until my grandma texted me and told me congrats, I had no idea what she was talking about until I went onto (MN) Hockey Hub.”

Kuehmichel, posted a (11-10-1) record on the season, with a .910 save percentage in the regular season, and a .971 in the section playoffs. Kuehmichel, also tallied one shutout during the season.

“I was in shock when I saw it, I didn’t really think it was going to happen.” Kuehmichel said.
