Nordic competes at state meet

On Wednesday, Jan. 11th, the nordic team traveled to Biwabik for the state meet.

The first day of the trip consisted of teams settling into the hotel and making a practice run through the course that they raced on Thursday.

The teams dressed in flannels and plaid for spirit at the pre-race banquet and ate a carb loaded dinner on Wednesday night.

To warm up, the teams took a 40 minute easy lap of the course and then completed 5 five-second sprints.

Dylan Cleary, senior, was the only male to make it to the state meet.  Cleary recorded a freestyle time of 16:13, classic time of 16:33 adding to a pursuit time of 32:36.

The girls placed in seventh place among all teams at the meet.

Seven girls participated in the races.  Renae Anderson sophomore, led the team with a final time of 37:40:1.

Renae Anderson, sophomore, Claire benton, junior, Sophie Dirnberger, sophomore, Katie Craemer, senior captain, Jennifer Olson, senior, Ellie Munger, seventh grader, and Anna Hall, senior were all of the competitors in the races.
