Dominique Hart, junior, is a new addition to the girls basketball program. Hart is a 6’1” forward that recently transferred from Minnetonka High School.

Hart is originally from California. During her sophomore year she averaged 8.3 points and 5 rebounds for Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento, CA.

The move from California to Minnesota is Harts 22nd move overall.

“My family doesn’t like to sit still. We like to travel,” said Hart.

Last June, Hart had reconstructive surgery on her right shoulder, which sidelined her for nine months. Hart wasn’t able to play in the beginning of the Skippers season due to shoulder soreness. She ended up only playing three games for the Skippers this season before transferring to Hopkins.

“Hopkins High School is closer to my mothers job and our home,” Hart said. “It just made sense to transfer.”

For now, Hart is training on the JV team. As Hart lives in the Hopkins school district, she would be eligible to play on the varsity team this season.

Nevertheless, the girls basketball program is excited about the new forward. Bianca Williams, senior, believes Hart fits in perfectly.

“Like us, Dominique is very goofy and funny and we love her,” said Williams. “I can tell she works very hard, and I know she will contribute to our team success.”
