Boys hockey set to face-off against Holy Family Catholic

On Thursday Feb. 5, the HHS boys hockey team will travel to Victoria, Minn. to play Holy Family Catholic. The Fire enter the matchup with a record of 13-6-2 and average 5.14 goals per game while giving up only 2.9 goals per game.

Meanwhile, the Royals have a 12-8-1 record and average 3.9 goals per game. This game will be a nice break from their grueling conference schedule. The Royals have a 1-4 record in the Lake Conference, which places them fifth in the Lake standings.

Currently, Holy Family is ranked second in the Wright County Conference standings with a conference record of 7-2. A player to watch on the Fire is John Peterson, senior, who has 54 points (27 goals and 27 assists) on the season.

The Royals’ players to watch are goalie Josh Kuehmichel and forward Josh Laven, seniors. Kuehmichel has an outstanding save percentage of .915 on the year, and Laven, the team’s top scorer, has 16 goals in 20 games played.

The puck is set to drop at Victoria Recreation Center at 7 PM.
