The 10-4 Royals will take on the third-ranked Eden Prairie Eagles (14-1) tonight at the Lindbergh Center, their first true home game since Dec. 11 against Wayzata.

The Royals are riding a six-game win streak and are 2-0 in conference play. John Warren, senior is averaging 17 points per game, and Xavier Johnson, junior is contributing another 13 per game.

Eden Prairie entered this week undefeated on the year and also 2-0 in conference play but lost to DeLaSalle, the top-ranked team in Class AAA, on Tuesday. The Eagles are led by seniors Blake Cashman and Grantham Gillard, who average 11 and 19 points per game, respectively.

With a win, the Royals will not only take control Lake Conference, but also gain a leg up on the Eagles in section seedings, as both are in Class 4A’s Section 4.

The next time these two teams face off will be the Royals’ final regular-season game, February 20, at Eden Prairie.
