On Tues. January 6, the boys basketball team made the trip out to St. Paul and defeated the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders by a score of 72-64.

The Royals are currently on a hot streak, winning their last five games including winning the Augsburg College Holiday Classic. On their way to winning the tournament, the Royals defeated Henry Sibley, Chanhassen and Eastview.

Against Cretin-Derham, the Royals were led by 22 points from John Warren, senior. The Royals also got a boost off the bench from Ishmael El-Amin, sophomore, who scored 14 points.

The Royals defeated a hobbled Raiders team that was missing their leading guard Donnell Gresham, senior. The Raiders kept the game tight with key contributions from Sam Neumann and Joe Rasga, seniors. Rasga, a veteran on the team, scored his 1000th point as a Raider early in the second half.

With the win, the Royals improved to 9-4 on the season. Next up, the Royals travel to Edina on Fri. January 9 with a 7 p.m. tip-off.
