On Dec. 18, the nordic team participated in a Lake Conference race at Elm Creek Park Reserve.

As the clock was ticking, the skiers pushed themselves through two laps of a 2.5 kilometer course. They glided along the ski tracks past rows of spectators, bundled up to face the cold.

The technique was classic, which well suited top skiers Trey Taylor, senior, and Renae Anderson, sophomore, both finishing in eighth place in the varsity race.

Both girls and boys teams scored in third place behind Wayzata and Eden Prairie. The next Lake Conference meet is Jan. 6.
