On Saturday, Oct. 25, Jake Bugg and the Black Keys took the stage at the Target Center. According to the Vita.mn website, over 10,000 people attended the concert, among them were many HHS students.

“The concert was sweet because all the songs sounded better alive. It was so energetic; people were standing up and dancing. During some parts, the crowds were louder than the performers,” said Elliot Carson, senior.

The Black Keys’ first show in Minneapolis was ten years ago, and their stage appearance has changed a lot over that time.

“I think it was really well put together. I’ve heard that other Black Keys concerts in the past haven’t been as colorful or unique as this concert was. ” said Lexi Thate, senior.

The Black Keys tried to incorporate some of the swirls and designs from their most recent album cover into their performance. Some of their new effects included an elaborate light show with different colored beams and various screens.

Even the audience participated in the light show at the end of the night.

“The encore was the best part because everyone had their flashlights on their phones out, and the whole place had an array of lights,” Thate said.
