They say the third times the charm, and that seemed to be true for Buckfest 3. This year Buckfest expanded, from having one stage to two and moving from the Depot in Hopkins to a larger venue in Burnsville. The fans really enjoyed the new venue.

“The new venue changed the level of excitement for most people. Instead of standing around in between sets people were rushing to the second stage to see the next act. The new venue was also more like a concert venue which was cool,” said Harry Jensen, Senior.

Not only was the new venue incredible, but all the performers stepped up their game from last year. This made it hard for people to choose a favorite.

“It’s so hard to pick a favorite, everyone really improved from last year. But, if I had to choose I would say Denim Matriarch was my favorite act of the night. It was nice to see all the seniors who graduated last year, and Denim is a very talented group of guys,” said Sam Schultz, senior.

For some HHS students, Buckfest 3 was the most “buck” for them.

“This was my first Buckfest and I would definitely say it was pretty crazy. The crowd was going crazy during each set and everyone was being pushed around. During the last set someone spit gum in my hair. So, I left Buckfest with a couple bruises and a wad of gum in my hair. Overall, it was a fun experience,” said Olivia Hawkins, junior.

All in all, people can’t wait to see if there will be a Buckfest 4.
