Last night, the volleyball team, ranked second in state, played Wayzata, ranked tenth in state. Following a 19-game winning streak, the Royals endured their first loss since Sept. 18. The Trojans came out of the gates with an energy that led them to a 3-0 victory.

“Going into the game, I was really confident that we were going to win because we had been playing so well,” said Ingrid Werner, senior captain.

Although the defeat was a disappointment to the team, it left them motivated and ready to work hard. Their last loss led to their 19 consecutive wins.

“After the game, I was sad about losing to a team we were favored to beat, but I feel like it’s less pressure going into sections and  will definitely make us work harder,” Werner said.

Details on the section tournament game has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more information.
