On Saturday, Oct. 11, the HHS volleyball team beat Wayzata in the championship game of the STMA tournament. The victory was the team’s 19th consecutive win and fourth consecutive tournament win.

On their way to the tournament title, the Royals defeated Elk River, Hutchinson, STMA, Delano, and Wayzata.

During the 19-game win streak, the Royals have beaten Chaska, Eden Prairie, Eagan, Delano, and Wayzata. In the new MSHSL poll, those teams are ranked third, fourth, sixth, eighth, and tenth. This poll has the Royals ranked second in the state behind Prior Lake, who the Royals have not played yet.

The Royals enter tonight’s match against Wayzata with a 5-2 conference record and look to sweep the Trojans.

The Royals will play at 7 p.m. at Wayzata High School.
