Boys soccer coach, Justin Hegre, was named coach of the year for section 6AA. He was selected by the other coaches in the section for his team’s improvement over the last season. In his third season as head varsity coach, Hegre intends to advance further into the playoffs than the team’s first round exit last October to Wayzata.

The Royals (8-5-3) received the two seed in the section 6AA playoffs, which is a four-seed jump from the 2013 season (in which they finished 6-8-2).

The Royals open the 2014 section tournament Oct. 9 at 7 pm with a home game against Minneapolis South (5-9-1).
