Students left their in-person classes at 1:00 pm to attend a state-wide school walkout calling for Justice for Daunte Wright, the most recent Black person killed by the Minnesota Police Department.

The walkout took place at the Football Stadium as students gathered in the bleachers while speakers stood on the track. The walkout commenced with four minutes of silence and the entire walkout lasted until 1:47 p.m.

This was the first school-wide walkout since the Parkland shooting in 2018 when students gathered in support for gun reform while remembering the 17 students who were killed in the tragic event. On Monday, there were, again, student speakers who lead the entire walkout, including north junior high seventh graders who stood in front of their peers and delivered their impactful words.
