Club Spotlight: The Invictus Leadership Group
Jan 14, 2019
At HHS almost everyone knows Mr. Al Nuness, former gopher basketball star and U of M athletic hall of fame inductee but not many really know the Invictus leadership group that he put together.
This is a group that meets once a week to help turn young boys into responsible leaders. The group is made up of all african american males with the majority of them participating in some type of athletic activity.
Mr. Nuness would bring guest speakers in to talk about their backstory and where they are now in their lives and what they learned from the process.
The guest speakers would also give pieces of advice to the students of how they can also succeed in the real world.
The students in the group not only come to learn about being successful but, how to be respectable men also. Most of the members try the best they can to attend each session and is fully dedicated.
The group is like a brotherhood.
What Mr. Nuness is doing is not only helping these young men but helping build diverse leaders for the communities.
