After GSA’s advisor, Mr. Williams, retired last year, the club was ripe for a brand new introduction to the HHS community under their new advisor.

With advisors Natalie Morse and Nina Baumfeld, they have started very early.

To celebrate National Coming Out Day, the club is selling t-shirts to members as well as other students and members of the staff.

“I think the point was that with students and staff buying the shirts, we came to see that there were so many more allies than we were aware of. It’s a way for staff and students to support the LGBTQ community.” Morse said.

Jane Mogol, Special Education, was one of the many members of staff who donned one of these GSA shirts on National Coming Out day.

“I bought this shirt because I absolutely sponsor everybody. No matter what they are, I am here for them at this school.” Mogol said.

To advertise, they set up a table at each lunch where they sold shirts. It was consistently bustling with activity.

The President of GSA, Jack Molnar, sophomore, is brand new this year along with the new advisors.

“We asked Linda Yesnes [Administrative Coordinator] to put the fact that we were selling shirts in the staff weekly newsletter to give staff the opportunity to participate.” Molnar said.

Lyim Baumgart, senior, has been in GSA for years and is thrilled with all the new changes.

“GSA is bigger than it has ever been. It’s all because of [Molnar]!” Baumgart said.
